Bring to Individual Audition:

60 second broadway-style song plus SHEET MUSIC for the accompanist. (If you do not have sheet music, you will be singing a capella. No karaoke tracks.)
60 second monologue that shows off your acting abilities. (Please no song or monologue excerpts from "Shrek.")

Minimum Age:

8 years old

Show & Rehearsal Dates:

"Shrek" will run March 27th-April 5th at the Grants Pass Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals will run weeknights January-March, 2020.

Conflicts:

Absolutely NO absences will be allowed during tech weeks March 13th-26th (including Sat & Sun) or the show dates: March 27th, 28th, 29th, April 2nd (Thursday Morning Show), 3rd, 4th, & 5th.

To save time on audition day, download this form (open then right click and "save as"), print and fill out at home, then bring it to auditions with you. We will be going in order of turned-in form.

Q: Do I need to attend more than one individual audition day?

A: Nope, just one! If we need to see you with other people at callbacks, our stage manager will let you know! On the other hand, everyone needs to be there on Sunday Dec 8th for dance callbacks! (For your category's time slot.)

Q: I've never done this before! What do I bring?

A: No stress! A large amount of our cast each year is first-timers! Just find a song you love to sing that shows off your voice. A favorite from a Disney movie, or even a Christmas song would work great! Then look online (sheet music plus or amazon), or the local music store: Great Northwest Music, for sheet music of your song that our accompanist can play!

Q: I don't have a printer. Will audition forms be available at auditions?

A: Yes! We will have extras there. We will audition in order of received completed audition form, so it's smart to fill it out ahead of time if you're able to.

Q: If I don't get called back, does that mean I didn't get a part?

A: No! Not everyone is needed for callbacks, only those the directors need to see again. Most of the cast will probably not hear their role until the week after auditions end, so be patient!

Q: What if I can't make the callbacks date? (Dec 16th or 17th)

A: Please mention it to the directors during your audition. They may ask you to do something extra at your audition, or they may already have a great part in mind for you!

Q: What days are rehearsals?

A: We rehearse Monday through Friday evenings, but frequency is depending on the role you are given. You won't be called every day. Some Saturdays may be required closer to production. Absolutely NO absences March 13th-26th or any of the show dates!!
