Shrek

An update on "Shrek the Musical." - It is with sadness and also hope that we must announce that we have been forced to postpone our production of "Shrek." Even if we could limit our show to a smaller audience size per the governor's rule, the school district is not allowing any non-school-related events to happen in the PAC, (or at South Middle School where we rehearse) and unfortunately that includes us!

BUT the show must go on, and we are preparing to rehearse and produce "Shrek" in the PAC during our Summer Theatre Camp, so as of now our new "Shrek" dates are July 17-19, and 24-26. Mark your calendars! (Summer Theatre Camp will still run July 6-18.)

If you are already a ticket holder for "Shrek" or the Swamp Picnic, please return them to where you bought them by the end of April for refunds. We are working with Box Office Tickets on issuing refunds as well. Thank you for being understanding of this unique situation.

As always, thank you for your support of One Eleven and to everyone who reached out to us in concern. This is a hard hit, especially for the cast, but we trust that it is for the best, and we value the safety of our community. Stay well, everyone. We'll see you at the theatre in July!

One Eleven Theatre Company presents: "Shrek," directed by Sandra Castle, choreographed by Erica Bury, and music directed by Jamie Banister. "Shrek" is a family-friendly fairytale celebration of love and friendship that is sure to entertain and make audiences believers in happy endings for all.

Set in a mythical "once upon a time" sort of land, Shrek the Musical is the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life by anything that crosses his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. Suddenly, a gang of homeless fairy-tale characters (Pinocchio, the Mad hatter, The Three Pigs, you name it) raid his sanctuary, saying they've been evicted by the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad. So Shrek strikes a deal: I'll get your homes back if you give me my home back! But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal of his own: He'll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona. Shrek obliges, yet finds something appealing - something strange and different - about this pretty princess. He likes her. A lot. But why does she always run off when the sun sets? Come see the show and find out!

Our version of Shrek is a treasure trove of creative costumes, sets, and a life-size dragon, complete with a live orchestra and cast of 38 talented performers. Shrek the Musical is adventuresome fun for the whole family.
